The Value Of A Home You Help Design
I'm not going to pretend a custom home is inexpensive. It's very expensive to build one. The people who are a good fit for us understand that cost, and they have a clear reason for wanting to spend the money: they want a home shaped around their family.
When I think about our ideal clients, I think about families who have considered what they can commit to a custom home. Maybe they've been saving a nest egg. Maybe they've paid off a house, or they're close to it. Those are the kinds of folks we're looking for, and they're people we've worked with.
What matters to me is how they think about value. They can see the cost of construction alongside the years they'll spend in the home.
There's real value, in my view, in living in a beautiful home you helped design. You helped come up with the concept. You guided how it functions so it would be ideal for your family. That participation makes the decisions personal, because you're thinking about how your family will actually live there.
I put a lot of weight on that time. When I think about what makes a custom home worth the spend, I look beyond its financial value to the experience of living there over the long term. For me, those years are a huge part of the payoff.
