The Client Who Teared Up Seeing Her Future Home

One of my clients gave me a hug and started to tear up when she saw the design of her home. “It's so beautiful, and I can't wait to see it in real life.” She was really happy, and that was a very fulfilling moment for me.

People really love being able to see what's going to be built before it's built. Another client’s reaction was, “Wow, this is so cool.” I love that excitement, especially when it comes with an understanding of the space.

With the model, they can walk around, pan around and look inside. They can spend time seeing the space instead of trying to make sense of it from the drawings alone. That’s when I hear, “Okay, now I get it.” Those scribbles on the paper start to mean something.

For me, that’s what makes helping people visualize their home so satisfying. We can show them the spaces we’re designing, and they can begin to picture what’s going to be there.
